2 Fiji U20 players suspended by IRB

The IRB judiciary has suspended two Fiji U20 players, Sevanaia Galala and Viliame Rarasea for their red card offences against New Zealand in the IRB Junior Rugby World Cup clash earlier this week.

Galala will miss the remainder of the tournament and is further suspended from 13 to 27 July 2013 inclusive. He is free to play on or after 28 July 2013. Galala was red carded for a dangerous tackle against New Zealand in the match played at Stade de la Rabine in Vannes on June 5. Galala, who had admitted his red card offence has 48 hours to appeal the 6 week suspension decision.

Rarasea was suspended for two weeks for a dangerous tackle in the same match. This means he will miss the scheduled matches on 9 and 13 June 2013. He is free to play again from 14 June 2013. Rarasea has 48 hours to appeal.

Fiji will face Ireland at 4.45am tomorrow and Australia next Friday.
