Independant Commission, Supervisor for 2014 elections: Miles

Glenn Miles
Australian Acting High Commissioner to Fiji, Glenn Miles has revealed that Fiji will appointment an independent Elections Commission and independent Supervisor of Elections once the new constitution comes into effect.

Miles has also revealed that Australia supports Fiji’s return to democracy and it will continue to work with the Fiji government.

Miles said that Australia is now trying to determine what sort of support it can provide to Fiji as the country prepares for the 2014 general elections.
Miles was part of the first international coordinating committee which discussed on ways to assist  the Fiji Elections Office, last month.
The meeting was chaired by the Attorney General and Elections Minister, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum.
