Market vendor pleads innocent in malicious act case

A market vendor who is charged for allegedly making malicious comments about the government, the Prime Minister and the military, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of malicious act.
Ram Chandra, 40, who was granted bail last week, told the court today through his lawyer Naipote Vere that he was allegedly assaulted at three different locations by police and security officers and he is also an outpatient of St Giles hospital.

Chandra will re appear in court on July 11.
