Mick Beddoes has today confirmed that the petition against the draft constitution will be sent to China, MSG, G77 and any other state or organizations the United Front for Democratic Fiji party wishes to send to, once they are able to secure at least 100,000 signatures.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama had earlier told Beddoes that he is wasting his time on collecting the signatures.

Beddoes, who is part of the UFDF had said recently that they will be able to confirm in ten to fourteen days on when they will be submitting their petition.

The UFDF is made up of three political parties – Social Democratic Liberal Party, the Fiji Labour Party and the National Federation Party.

Beddoes had earlier said that the government of the day will definitely implement its draft constitution so it didn’t matter whether the petition is handed before or after it is implemented. According to Beddoes, the signatures are people’s views on the constitution and it does not matter when the petition is submitted.
