Police investigate $500K scandal

The Fiji Cancer Society is now trying to determine why their accounts with the banks in Fiji have been frozen.

The FCS  cannot access their joint account with the Walk On Walk Strong containing $500K.

The FCS has been advised by the banks to hold an AGM and appoint new office bearers within 28 days to allow access to the funds.

According to the FCS, this hadd been done already but they are not sure whethher the funds will be released.

WOWS had been unable to operate normally for several because of the prolonged internal difficulties the society was experiencing and delays in resolving the matter

It was confirmed that  when the former chairman and treasurer left the society, their administrative and financial records were also erased.

Police is now investigating the matter.
