Rape suspect, 14, released by police; Vatuwaqa murder-suicide case remains a mystery

A 14 year old class 8 student of Tavua who allegedly raped a class 2 student in a primary school compound this month, has been released by police.

Police questioned the suspect in the presence of his father before releasing him.

The boy is alleged to have raped the girl during recess break between June 17 – June 21.

The mother of the victim lodged a complaint with the police when the child started experiencing body pains.

Last week,  a 16 year old boy was charged for raping a youngster in Nadi.

Meanwhile, police investigations continue into the alleged murder-suicide of a couple whose bodies were discovered lying in a pool of blood in their Vatuwaqa home. Relatives, friends and workmates of the 32 year olds are currently being questioned by police.
