Zibraaz Sahib has been ruled out of the Lautoka team for the upcoming Fiji FACT.
Sahib, who is based in Auckland will not be able to join the Design Engineering sponsored Blues because of visa restrictions.
Lautoka Football Association president Shalendra Prasad said Sahib’s non-inclusion in the final squad was a big blow.
He said Sahib played a pivotal role in the midfield for them in the past two years.
“Arvindra Naidu is back from overseas,” Prasad said.
“He is training with the team. Our coach Ravinesh Kumar is working on the fitness of the players. They will go through a beep test this weekend.”
“Apart from that we are negotiating with some of our clubs to give the team some game time. We are hoping to play at least three warm-up games.”
“The 20-member squad will be finalised tomorrow (today).
“Some of the players who are part of the 30-member squad failed to turn up for the daily training sessions without valid reasons. They will be taken to task.”
The Lautoka team will march into camp on Monday.
Lautoka will face Navua in the opening match at the ANZ Stadium in Suva at 1pm on June 15.
The Blues last won the Fiji FACT title in 2002.
Suva is the current Fiji FACT champion.
