The National Federation Party and the Social Democratic and Liberal Party have today disclosed assets and liabilities of all its applicants, officials and of the Party itself.

The Fiji Labour Party is yet to confirm whether they have declared their assets and liabilities.
Registrar of Political Parties, Mohammed Saneem will issue a statement in relation to the matter this weekend.
According to the Political Parties Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures Decree, the spouses and children of the applicants and executives also have to reveal their assets and liabilities.

They have to provide information of the total income whether in Fiji or abroad, the source of such income, any business connections, any directorships, any business transaction entered into by each of them and any gift received by each of them whether in Fiji or abroad.

This exempts gifts received in the normal course of events from close relatives or a gift received in accordance with custom in the course of traditional exchange of gifts or in the case of a gift given on behalf of the nation, if the gift is transferred to the government as soon as it is possible to do so without giving offense to the giver.

According to the decree, all these declarations will be published in the media and gazetted.
