Tabakaucoro breaks 200m record in Oceania championship
Pacific Games champ Banuve Tabakaucoro broke the 200m record in the Oceania Championship which is currently being held in Tahiti.
Tabakaucoro clocked a new time of 21.08secs to defeat record holder Nelson Stone of Papua New Guinea.
Stone’s record was 21.09secs.
The 21 year old’s time is faster than his Pacific Games record of 21.18 seconds which he set in 2011.
Tabakaucoro will feature in the 100m heats today.
Coca Cola Games sprint queen Sisilia Seavula could not qualify for the final of the 200m after finishing 8th during the heats.
