Former Local Government and Housing Minister Colonel Samuela Saumatua says he will be taking a break for about a month after resigning from his post.
Saumatua told FBC News that he decided it was time to leave as age has caught up with him and needs to have complete rest.
He says once he has had some time to rest, he might look for a job or commit himself to social work.
A government statement yesterday, confirmed Colonel Saumatua resigned due to personal reasons and the Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed- Khaiyum will act as the Minister for local government until a successor is appointed.
