19,115 speeding cases registered

19,115 drivers have been booked for speeding since the beginning of the year despite repeated advisories.

Other road offences recorded so far this year include 973 bookings for not wearing seat belt, 1,083 for careless driving, 948 for carrying excess passengers, 201 for driving without a license, 534 for Illegal operations while 370 were booked for drunk driving.

Speeding and drunk driving continues to be the leading cause of deaths on Fiji roads.

The road death toll currently stands at 15.
