$4m health upgrade confirmed

The government will spend $4 million for major upgrade of health centres across the country, while $900,000 will be allocated for minor repairs.

The Lautoka hospital will undergo some major upgrades as its servicing a large population in the western division.

Three additional operating theaters will be set up along with a cardiac-cath laboratory next year.

The Health Ministry has also recruited 2,500 nurses.
