ANZ stadium official opening today

The official opening of the newly renovated ANZ stadium will begin at 5 FJ Time this afternoon.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will be the chief guest at this event and it has been confirmed that the opening ceremony will feature a full traditional I-Taukei ceremony.

Fiji Sports Council had earlier confirmed that they will ask the International Rugby Board to allow Fiji to host a tournament in the IRB 7s series.

A team from the IRB was present at the stadium during the 2013 Coca Cola games and it is understood that another team from the IRB will inspect the stadium later this year.
