AU will give Fiji over $F100m in aid

THE Australian government has announced that it will provide $105.5million ($A58.2m) in official development assistance to Fiji in the 2013 – 14 financial year.

The allocation is an 18 per cent increase from the previous years allocation of $89m ($A49.2M).

Australia’s Counsellor for Development Assistance in Fiji Joanne Choe said the increase in aid follows the Australian government’s promise to double the size of AusAIDs bilateral budget to Fiji over two years.
