The days of us being dictated to by outsiders are over.
So said Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama while reinforcing his optimism about the future of the Melanesian Spearhead Group in the Solomon Islands.
Speaking to the Solomons Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo, the PM highlighted how the MSG had begun to see itself as a cohesive, unified force that is truly independent.
One he added that is taking charge of its own destiny and carving out its own niche in the world, not beholden to anyone.
Commodore Bainimarama points out that we will act in our own interests, not the interests of those who attempt to impose their will on us.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister also offered a hand of friendship and assistance to the Solomon Islands at the end of his official visit to Honiara as Chief Guest for the country’s 35th Independence anniversary celebrations.
