Death driver gets 3 year jail term

The bus driver involved in the  2008 Malaqereqere Sigatoka fatal bus fire was today sentenced to three years imprisonment by the Suva High Court.

Kamanieli Tuimavana, 36, was  found guilty on 12 counts of manslaughter.

Tuimavana drove a bus to Sigatoka in August 2008 which caught fire killing twelve people near Malaqereqere Sigatoka

A non parole period of two years has also been imposed on him
