Death driver in court

Jessica Hill, 26, who is alleged to have caused the death of Australia’s Mount Isa youth worker Sereana Pratap in May 2013, appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court this morning.

Hill is charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily harm and failure to undergo a breath analysis.

Pratap, 39, died when the vehicle she was driving was hit by another car, which was driven by Hill. She was the wife of outgoing Mount Isa City Council chief executive officer Bhan Pratap.

Hill is yet to take a plea and she will reappear in court tomorrow.
