Fake certificates ‘issued by Fiji Uni’ seized

41 counterfeit certificates issued by a Fiji university was confiscated by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority on Monday.
A package containing the certificates was seized when customs officials became suspicious of the authenticity of the certificates. The university concerned confirmed that the certificates were fake. According to FRCA, the package was part of overseas consignments which needed clearance by customs for local destinations.
The English language courses certificates were printed abroad and were being sent to a local address however it was not addressed to a particular person. An overseas phone number was noted as a contact.
Police is now investigating the matter.
