Fire truck fire believed to be caused by the unleaded pump
The National Fire Authority is conducting an internal investigation after one of its fire trucks caught fire on Monday.
CEO John O’Connor confirmed that at 4am on the day, the Navua Fire Station received a call from Galoa of a rubbish fire.
On the way to attend to the call, the fire truck with four firefighters on board caught fire.
“On the way to Galoa, past Taunovo, the firefighters noticed smoke coming out from the back of the vehicle,” Mr O’Connor said.
“We believe the fire was caused by the unleaded pump we had at the back of the truck. But to be certain, we are conducting an internal investigation.”
