“The government has been working on ensuring Fiji has an environment conducive to investment.”
So said Finance Permanent Secretary Filimoni Waqabaca in response to a question (if the absence of parliamentary democracy is an impediment to change and growth) raised during the Fiji Institute of Accountants Congress 2013 meet at Sheraton resort yesterday.
Waqabaca said that one of the strategies is to attract the interests of foreign businesses by having the local private sector invest despite the political situation.
He added that the government has been setting up structures and policies for the interests and confidence of investors to remain and attract more investors.
