Legal action planned over patient’s death
The family of a Noreen Sanjeshni Naidu will take legal action following her death at the Lautoka hospital in April.
Naidu, 25, died following a surgery at the hospital. Two doctors from the Lautoka Hospital have been suspended following preliminary investigations into suggestions of negligence.
Health permanent secretary Dr Eloni Tora said the senior doctors were suspended based on the seriousness of the case and that it was avoidable..
Investigations are expected to take a fortnight.
