Military training for Fiji 7s team

The Fiji 7s team participated in the 3FIR Infantry Day dawn service held at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Suva early yesterday morning. The players engaged in a mock hostage and rescue exercise.

According to the team manager, Semi Rogoyawa it was ‘part of their plans to prepare for the world cup’. UK has issued travel warnings of possible terror attacks in Russia, however the Fiji team is focused on playing rugby to their best in the Moscow Melrose Cup challenge.The players have also been banned from social networking sites because the team management does not want them to see negative comments.

The Alifereti Dere coached side leaves for Moscow next Monday. Fiji will participate in the 7s RWC which begins in Russia next week.

 

Fiji will face Tonga at 12.28am FJ Time next Saturday in their first pool match.

Fiji will meet Uruguay at 6.28pm next Saturday and the last pool match will be against Wales at 12.42am Sunday.
