Miserable weather to continue

Bad weather continues to affect the Fiji group this morning.
The Nadi weather bureau has advised the people living in the coastal areas to take necessary precautions as sea flooding during high tides is still possible today in areas between Korovou to Nadi.
A strong wind warning remains in force for all land areas of the Fiji group.
The damaging heavy swell warning also remains in force for all low lying coastal areas of southern and western Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti, Lau group, Yasawa and the Mamanuca group.
A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers remains slow moving over Fiji.
An intense high pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji directs strong southeast winds over the group and heavy southerly swells over Fiji waters.
Strong southeast winds with average speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour momentary gusts to 65 kilometers per hour is still expected today.
Occasional showers over the eastern and interior parts of the larger islands.
Rough to very rough seas is expected.
