No excuses: Qera

Our main goal, our main target this year, is to win the Pacific Nations Cup and there will be no excuses.

This is what Flying Fijians super player Akapusi Qera told a Canadian newspaper online newspaper.

“I believe in the boys, and I believe in the management, that no one else will stop us reaching those goals. And I believe that this (Wednesday) is another stepping stone to that goal.” he said.

The 13th ranked Fiji team will take on Canada at will take on Canada at the Twin Elms Rugby Park, Nepean in Ottawa this week.

Qera said: “Test matches are test matches, and the boys are prepared for it,”. They will be up for it on Wednesday.”

Fiji smashed Japan 22 – 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka last weekend.

Most of the players made a 24-hour trip to Ottawa via Los Angeles and Toronto, but paperwork issues forced centre Nemani Nadolo and prop Campese Ma’afu through Australia and Vancouver.

They are expected to arrive in Ottawa later today.

“No excuses, though, Qera said.

Fiji will face US on June 19 and Tonga on June 23, both in Japan.
