Pratap, Mau case will go to trial
Former Post Fiji executives Peni Mau and Dhirendra Pratap have been denied an application for a no case to answer by the Fiji High Court.
Mau and Pratap are facing abuse of office and extortion charges. In 2006, Mau is alleged to have approved the payment of $5,400 to Pratap without the authority of the Post Fiji board.
Pratap is alleged to have accepted the payment as reward for his performance of his duty as general manager finance. The payment, according to prosecution witness was made outside Pratap’s contract.
