Rapist to be sentenced today

A 37 year old man who was found guilty of raping a 21 year old woman in 2011 by the assessors yesterday, will be sentenced by the High Court judge Justice Salesi Temo today.

It was alleged that on September 22, 2011 at Newtown, Suva the man who had a relationship with the women for 6 months raped her without her consent.

The court was told that although both had a relationship the aggravating factor in this case, is that the woman sustained injuries and also suffered psychological trauma.
