Ratu Wiliame Katonivere is the new Tui Macuata

 

Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere was installed as the new Tui Macuata Taukei Bolatagane in the chiefly village of Naduri, Labasa today.

He is the younger brother of the late Tui Macuata Ratu Aisea Katonivere, who lost his life during a fishing trip in Macuata waters recently.

The installation was overseen by the Sau Turaga, Taukei Namara Ratu Peni Sogia and the Mataqali Nabariqi Yavusa Namama.

Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has vowed to look after the people of Macuata and uphold their needs.

Taukei Namara Ratu Peni Sogia said Ratu Wili was the rightful holder of the title.
