Sri Lankan judge joins Fiji judiciary

A Sri Lankan senior state counsel is the latest addition to Fiji’s judiciary.

Mayadunne Corea was yesterday sworn in as a puisine judge to the Fiji High Court by the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

Mr Corea was employed with the Attorney-General’s department in Sri Lanka and graduated from the Sri Lankan Law College.

He took his oath before senior members of the judiciary and was later welcomed as a judge by the head of State.

He has experience in commercial law, land law, intellectual property law, law of contract, company law, public law and labour law.
