Train service eyed for the West

The Fiji Sugar Corporation is keen to invest in a $20m railroad project that will serve as an alternative mode of transport for locals and tourists in the western division.

According to the FSC they are now reviewing the railways and would invest in the project over the next few years. The FSC only uses the railway during the crushing season so the lines are idle for six months.

The government is fully supportive of the initiative.
