US offers US$1M elections assistance to Fiji

The US government is keen to provide Fiji with conditional assistance amounting to US$1M for the preparation of the 2014 general elections.

This decision was made after US reps participated in discussions with Fiji and its friends in the elections assistance coordinating committee recently.

 US will also support capacity building in the post elections phases especially for resolving disputes and training newly elected representatives to help them improve their understanding of government’s responsibilities.
