Welcome sunshine

A strong wind warning remains in force for land areas of southern Lau Group.

A trough of low pressure lies over eastern parts of Fiji and is gradually moving away from the group. Associated cloud and showers is expected to continue affecting the group till later today.

For southern Lau group: Strong west to northwesterly winds with average speeds of 40 to 50 km/hr and momentary gusts to 60 km/hr, easing and turning southwesterly from tomorrow.

Elsewhere, moderate to fresh west to northwest winds, gradually turning southwest by tomorrow.

Occasional showers and few thunderstorms over northern Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby islands and Lau group.

Showers expected to ease from later today over most places.

Elsewhere, cloudy periods with brief showers. Moderate to rough seas. Cool at nights. Outlook for TUESDAY : Fine apart from brief showers over the interior and eastern parts of the larger islands. Cool at night.
